It is the policy of SHALEEM PETROLEUM COMPANY S.A.O.C. to conduct its activities in such a way as to take foremost account of the health and safety of its employees, the public in general and to give proper regard to the conservation of the environment. In implementing this policy SHALEEM PETROLEUM COMPANY S.A.O.C. not only complying with the requirements of the relevant legislation, but promoting in an appropriate manner the measures for the protection of the Health, Safety and Environment for all who may be affected directly or indirectly by its activities.

In following this policy the Company:

1 Actively promotes the principle that all accidents should be prevented.

2 Recognizes the importance of the involvement and commitment of management and other employees ensuring that they have the required skills and support.

3 Assess Health, Safety & Environmental matters, before entering into new activities and reassess them in the case of a significant change in circumstances.

4 Integrate into all their planning cycles, health, safety and environmental requirements and considerations.

5 Aim to provide products and services, together with an emphasis that will not cause injury to health or undue impact on the environment when used in accordance with advice.

6 Keep all persons appropriately informed of known potential hazards and of the health, safety and environmental measures being taken to protect them.

7 Establish and maintain Contingency Procedures to minimize harm from accidents that may occur and work with clients and the relevant authorities in an appropriate manner in the development and application of the Contingency Procedures.

8 Work with others and where necessary take the initiative to develop and promote improved and workable regulations, standards and codes.

9 Promote an awareness of environmental issues and endeavour to understand the effect of their activities on the environment. Apply the best practicable means to account for and minimise the environmental impact.

10 Pursue progressive reduction of emissions, effluent and discharges of waste materials that are known to have a negative impact on the environment with the ultimate aim of eliminating them.
